Klype vs AuthoredUp: a LinkedIn editor and analytics suite, or checked drafts?

AuthoredUp is a formatting, scheduling and analytics tool with an AI assistant in closed beta. Klype is a drafting and checking tool. The cheaper one is AuthoredUp, and for many people the right answer is both.

AuthoredUp is the stronger choice if you write your own posts and want a proper editor, preview, scheduling, hook library and detailed LinkedIn analytics for $19.95 a month, with no card needed to try it. Klype AI is the stronger choice if you want drafts in a voice measured from your posts, grounded in your product and buyer, and checked for unsupported claims and machine patterns before you publish, for $39 a month. The two overlap less than most pairs on this blog.

What each tool is for

AuthoredUp sits around the act of posting. Its editor formats text, previews the "see more" fold on several devices, grades readability and offers 300+ hooks and 150+ closing lines. The Chrome extension schedules posts, and the platform collects your historical posts and analytics, including saves, sends, reach and profile views, with CSV export and an analytics API key on every plan. Coauthor, its AI assistant that learns your voice from your own posts, is in closed beta.

Klype sits before the post. It keeps your product, buyer, voice and plan in one record, drafts in a measured voice, and checks every draft before it goes out. Its analytics are not a selling point.

How each learns your voice

AuthoredUp's Coauthor is described as an AI writing assistant built into the editor that learns your voice from your own posts. That is the right starting material. It is in closed beta, so most users cannot test it yet, and the site does not say what it measures or how it holds drafts to your style. Every plan includes some Coauthor credits with more available as a paid add-on, which suggests usage will be metered once it opens.

Klype measures your voice from posts you have already written. It records sentence rhythm, fragment rate, punctuation habits and how often you use contractions, then holds every draft to those numbers. There is no tone picker and no "sound professional" switch. If your posts run short and clipped, drafts run short and clipped.

Posting, automation and account safety

AuthoredUp schedules posts through its Chrome extension, which runs inside your browser session. It sets reminders to post and to engage with comments, and its best-time heatmap is built from your own posting history. The signup section says "No automation", and nothing on the site describes automated likes, comments or connection requests. That is the account-safe end of the market, and it is where Klype sits too.

Klype never auto-posts and never logs in as you. You approve a draft, then publish it yourself. Before that, Check reads the draft for figures with no source, invented stories and machine-writing patterns, and tells you what to fix. It also scores drafts written somewhere else, including ChatGPT. For automation of your own, there is an MCP server, a REST API and a Chrome extension, and you can bring your own AI key.

Price, trial and what you get

AuthoredUp Individual is $19.95 a month or $199.50 a year, which works out at $16.63 a month. Business is $14.95 per profile a month, or $149.50 a year per profile, with a minimum of three profiles and sub-accounts, team analytics and draft collaboration. A Custom Growth plan for ten or more profiles is priced on request. The free trial needs no card; the site does not say how long it lasts. Unlimited company pages come at no extra charge.

Klype costs $39 a month, $99 a quarter or $299 a year. The 7-day trial asks for a card and charges nothing until day 8. A free version of the draft checks is at klype.ai/check. Klype launched publicly on 1 October 2026, so its track record is short and you should weigh that honestly.

Where AuthoredUp is the better choice

AuthoredUp is the better choice if you write your own posts and want the mechanics handled well: formatting, preview, hooks, scheduling and the deepest LinkedIn analytics of any tool on this page, with an API key for your own reporting. At $19.95 a month it is also the cheaper tool. If you manage several profiles, the Business plan is built for that.

Choose AuthoredUp if you write your own posts and want editing, scheduling and analytics done properly.

Where Klype AI is the better choice

Klype is the better choice if the hard part is the draft itself. Voice is measured from your posts and held as numbers, not learned in a beta. Check reads every draft for figures with no source, invented stories and machine-writing patterns, which AuthoredUp's readability grade does not attempt. Your product, buyer and GTM plan feed every draft. Klype also has an MCP server and REST API for your own workflows. Many people will use Klype to draft and check, then AuthoredUp to format, schedule and measure, since neither replaces the other. Klype launched on 1 October 2026.

Choose Klype if you want drafts in a measured voice, checked for claims before you post.

How to decide in one afternoon

Test both on the same idea. Write two rough lines you would really post, run them through each trial, then paste both drafts into the free post checker. Start the Klype trial: card required, nothing charged until day 8.
