Klype vs Kleo: $39 checked drafts or a $99 growth system?

Kleo is a $99-a-month LinkedIn system with weekly coaching calls and a creator community. Klype is a $39-a-month writing tool that measures your voice and checks every draft. They are priced for different buyers.

Kleo is the stronger choice if you want a full LinkedIn programme: strategy, templates, scheduling, analytics, weekly live calls and a private community, at $99 a month or $999 a year. Klype AI is the stronger choice if you want a $39-a-month tool that measures your voice as numbers, keeps your product and buyer in one record, and checks every draft for unsupported claims and machine patterns. Neither auto-posts.

What each tool is for

Kleo began as a free Chrome extension and was rebuilt as a web app by Jake Ward, Lara Acosta and Cam Trew. Today it sells one plan, Standard, at $99 a month, and describes itself as a complete growth system rather than a writing tool: strategy, idea capture, 400+ templates, 200+ post examples, 20 AI visuals a month, one-click scheduling and publishing, analytics, weekly live calls with the Kleo team and a private community. The site says 1,354 personal brands use it.

Klype is narrower on purpose. It drafts in a voice measured from your own posts, keeps your product, buyer and GTM plan in one record so every draft reads from it, and runs Check on every draft before you publish. There is no coaching and no community.

How each learns your voice

Kleo keeps a persistent memory of you: your expertise, writing style, products, audience, goals and previous content. Its FAQ says every conversation builds on that memory, like a content partner that has worked with you for months. That is closer to how Klype thinks than most tools, because it treats voice as something stored rather than something prompted each time. The site does not describe what it stores about style, so you cannot see whether it holds drafts to sentence length or fragment rate, or simply retrieves examples.

Klype measures your voice from posts you have already written. It records sentence rhythm, fragment rate, punctuation habits and how often you use contractions, then holds every draft to those numbers. There is no tone picker and no "sound professional" switch. If your posts run short and clipped, drafts run short and clipped.

Posting, automation and account safety

Kleo schedules and publishes to LinkedIn and says it uses LinkedIn's official API where appropriate. It is clear that it does not act on your account beyond what you choose to publish. The original Chrome extension, which overlaid Kleo on LinkedIn's interface, is gone; the surviving extension saves content you find around the web. There is no engagement automation on the site.

Klype never auto-posts and never logs in as you. You approve a draft, then publish it yourself. Before that, Check reads the draft for figures with no source, invented stories and machine-writing patterns, and tells you what to fix. It also scores drafts written somewhere else, including ChatGPT. For automation of your own, there is an MCP server, a REST API and a Chrome extension, and you can bring your own AI key.

Price, trial and what you get

Kleo is $99 a month or $999 a year, which the site shows as saving $189. Extra profiles for a team or clients cost $49 a month each. The annual plan adds a private onboarding call, priority support, early feature access and a lifetime price lock. There is no free trial on the site; instead there is a 7-day money-back guarantee on monthly and 30 days on annual. The price includes the coaching calls and community, which is where much of the value sits.

Klype costs $39 a month, $99 a quarter or $299 a year. The 7-day trial asks for a card and charges nothing until day 8. A free version of the draft checks is at klype.ai/check. Klype launched publicly on 1 October 2026, so its track record is short and you should weigh that honestly.

Where Kleo is the better choice

Kleo is the better choice if what you need is a programme, not a tool. The weekly live calls, the template and example library, the AI visuals and the community around Lara Acosta and Jake Ward are things Klype does not attempt. If you are starting from zero and want to be shown what to post each week by people who have done it, that is what the $99 buys.

Choose Kleo if you want coaching, templates and a community as part of the price.

Where Klype AI is the better choice

Klype is the better choice if you already know what you want to say and need it to sound like you and hold up. Voice is measured, not described, so drafts keep your sentence rhythm. Check flags figures without a source, invented stories and machine patterns before anything goes out, including drafts written elsewhere. Your product, buyer and GTM plan feed every draft, and the MCP server and REST API let you build on it. At $39 a month it costs less than half of Kleo, and you can try it for seven days before paying anything. Klype launched on 1 October 2026 and has no community or coaching.

Choose Klype if you want a cheaper tool that measures your voice and checks every claim.

How to decide in one afternoon

Test both on the same idea. Write two rough lines you would really post, run them through each trial, then paste both drafts into the free post checker. Start the Klype trial: card required, nothing charged until day 8.
