Klype for insurtech companies: check AI drafts against your company facts

Insurance claims are tested against policy language and regulators. Check marketing claims against the record before a broker repeats them.

Insurtech companies check AI drafts by saving licensing by state, the carrier partner and its rating with dates, claims metric definitions and how AI is used in underwriting. Marketing, broker decks and emails are then run through a claim check that flags speed, coverage and fairness claims the saved record cannot back.

Where AI drafts go wrong for insurtech companies

Insurtech copy blends a technology story with an insurance promise, and assistants are poor at the line between them. They write claims speed as if it were a coverage guarantee, a carrier partner's rating as if it were the insurtech's own, and licensing as if it covered every state. A broker who repeats the wording to a client has created a problem for both companies.

AI-use statements deserve their own care. In December 2023 the National Association of Insurance Commissioners adopted a model bulletin on insurers' use of AI systems, and the NAIC tracks which states have adopted it. A draft that says underwriting is automated, unbiased or human-reviewed is making a claim a regulator may ask you to substantiate.

Claims an AI draft might invent for insurtech companies

These examples are invented for this page to show the pattern. They describe no real company, customer or result.

  • "Claims paid in minutes" when only a subset of simple claims is automated.
  • "Backed by an A-rated carrier" when the rating belongs to a different entity or has changed.
  • "Licensed in all 50 states" when licences are held in fewer.
  • "Our AI underwrites without bias" with no testing behind it.
  • "Lower your loss ratio by 12 points" with no data.

The facts insurtech companies would save once

A saved fact is one sentence you can stand behind, with its source and date. Anything a draft claims that matches none of them is flagged.

  • Licences by state and line, with date checked.
  • The carrier or capacity partner, its rating, who issued it and when.
  • Claims metrics: definition, population, period.
  • How AI is used in underwriting and claims, and where humans decide.
  • Lines and coverages you do not offer.
  • Approved wording for what a policy covers, taken from the policy.

The workflow

  1. Save licensing, carrier and AI-use facts, and name the compliance owner for each.
  2. Draft broker decks, web copy and client emails in your assistant.
  3. Run each through the claim check. Paste the policy wording as source text when the draft summarizes coverage.
  4. Send flagged claims about coverage, rating or AI use to compliance for sign-off by private link.
  5. Publish, and keep the record so broker materials can be traced to an approved version.

The method is the one on the draft fact check page: Klype extracts the figures, guarantees, vague authority and stories in a draft, matches each to your saved facts and any source text you paste, flags what it cannot back, and keeps an approval record. It is rule-based, so the same text gets the same answer, and it never publishes or sends anything.

What the check does not do

It compares claims with the facts you saved and any source text you paste. It does not browse the web, does not verify outside claims and does not replace legal, compliance or editorial review where your work needs it. When it finds nothing checkable, it says nothing was verified, so you still read every draft before it goes out.

Sources

Each source is cited for the single point made above. Klype does not give legal advice; ask your counsel how any rule applies to you.

Common questions

Does the check read policy documents?

It reads any text you paste with the draft as source text. A coverage statement that does not match it is flagged. It does not interpret policy law.

Why mention the NAIC bulletin?

Because it shows how regulators are looking at AI in insurance. Your counsel decides what applies in each state. The check helps you keep a record of what you claimed and who approved it.

Can brokers use the check?

A broker can run a draft through the Klype connector in their assistant, if you share the workspace. Sign-off by private link needs no account.
