Product marketing teams check AI drafts by keeping a claims library of every figure, superlative and customer statement with its source and date, then running positioning, launch copy and case studies through a claim check. Anything the library cannot back, such as an unsourced benchmark or an unconfirmed first, is flagged before launch.
Where AI drafts go wrong for product marketing teams
Positioning copy is where assistants are most fluent and least accountable. They reach for superlatives (first, only, leading), borrow benchmark language and compose a customer quote that sounds right. Our own reading of 104 B2B SaaS homepages on 10 October 2026 found 600 checkable claims, of which only 24.3% had a visible source next to them. Teams write unsourced claims by hand too. An assistant produces them faster.
Launch week raises the stakes. Dates, regions, availability and analyst relationships change by the day, and an AI-written release or sales deck is drafted from last week's brief. The reliable fix is a single claims library that every draft is checked against, not a longer review meeting.
Claims an AI draft might invent for product marketing teams
These examples are invented for this page to show the pattern. They describe no real company, customer or result.
- "The first platform to unify X and Y" when a competitor shipped it earlier.
- "Named a leader by a leading analyst firm" when you were only briefed by them.
- "3x faster than legacy tools" with no test design behind it.
- A customer quote, written by the assistant, attributed to a real champion who never said it.
- "Now available in Europe" when the launch is staged by region.
The facts product marketing teams would save once
A saved fact is one sentence you can stand behind, with its source and date. Anything a draft claims that matches none of them is flagged.
- Each claim with its source, date and the person who owns it.
- Competitor facts and the date they were last checked.
- Analyst relationship status in approved wording.
- Launch calendar: what is available, where, from which date.
- Customer quotes with the approval record, verbatim only.
- Product and feature names, including those not yet public.
The workflow
- Convert your existing messaging doc into saved facts: claim, source, date, owner.
- Draft positioning, launch copy and sales assets in your assistant.
- Run each asset through the claim check, adding the source study or quote approval as source text where you have it.
- Send flagged claims to the owner for sign-off. The owner either supplies a source or cuts the claim.
- Publish, and keep the record with the asset, so sales can see what was approved.
The method is the one on the draft fact check page: Klype extracts the figures, guarantees, vague authority and stories in a draft, matches each to your saved facts and any source text you paste, flags what it cannot back, and keeps an approval record. It is rule-based, so the same text gets the same answer, and it never publishes or sends anything.

What the check does not do
It compares claims with the facts you saved and any source text you paste. It does not browse the web, does not verify outside claims and does not replace legal, compliance or editorial review where your work needs it. When it finds nothing checkable, it says nothing was verified, so you still read every draft before it goes out.
Sources
Each source is cited for the single point made above. Klype does not give legal advice; ask your counsel how any rule applies to you.
Common questions
Does it catch superlatives like "first" and "only"?
It looks for figures, guarantees, vague authority and stories told as fact. Superlatives that imply an unnamed comparison fall under vague authority when nothing in your saved facts supports them.
Can I use the homepage study in my own deck?
Yes, with the method and limits. The study, with its dataset and caveats, is published on this site; cite it as a study of 104 B2B SaaS homepages read on 10 October 2026.
How is this different from a brand guidelines doc?
Guidelines say how to sound. Saved facts say what you may claim. The check applies the second to every draft automatically.
